Voxel · 1:1 Scale

USS Arkansas

A full 1:1 scale voxel build of USS Arkansas as she appeared in her 1945 wartime refit — one of a growing yard of ships built the same way.

Why Build It

Arkansas went through the same process as every ship in this series: real photographs and deck plans translated block by block into a full-scale, walkable structure. A refit-era ship adds its own wrinkle — the added anti-aircraft tubs, radar arrays, and light guns bolted onto an older hull don't sit where the original drawings say they should, so getting the silhouette right means cross-referencing wartime photos as much as the ship's original plans.

She sits in the yard alongside the other builds in this series, giving an easy way to compare scale and era side by side.
