Marco Glancy

Marco Glancy is an interior designer and artist working out of New York City, with an office near the Flatiron Building and a practice that operates mostly around Midtown Manhattan. When he isn't building 3D models in Rhino or reading floor plans, he's wrestling the third dimension out of the two-dimensional page. Design is the calling — interior design and stippling are simply the two methods that scratch the same, ever-present itch to create.

That same attention shows up in the studio's other body of work — a growing series of pen-and-ink drawings following naval ships and the people aboard them, mostly American, from the interwar years through WWII and Korea, built entirely from stippled dots, no linework. It's slower, quieter work than a renovation, and it stays close at hand between projects.
